1836 5 Dollars, Second Head - Large Date. AU Details, Cleaned. Breen-6509. Presenting an interesting opportunity for the die state specialist, this example has a die break that runs from the rim near the 6 in the date to above the 8th star. Other examples of this scarce variety often show a vertical crack bisecting the reverse as well. Much luster still remains on both sides with horizontal hairlines appearing on the obverse when closely inspected.
