The Clydesdale Bank Limited, £1, Glasgow, 6. 10. 1915, serial number A1367801, black and red on white, arms of city of Glasgow flanked by two females at upper centre, allegorical maidens at left and right, one printed signature of Dewar low left and one manuscript signature of Dewar low right , also included in the lot is a family photograph which includes a portrait of Duncan Dewar, his wife and three of their five children. Dewar´s signature appears on Clydesdale notes from 1882 through to 1921 (Douglas 11-3; Pick 181b), fine and rare, the elusive double Dewar´s signature. Ex Spink Macmillan sale 2005.
