The Banking Company in Aberdeen, £1 Sterling, 1. 1. 1825, serial number 531/81, apparently hand-signed by Cashier and Teller, but endorsed "Forged" twice in black manuscript on obverse, arms of the bank at upper centre, hand-stamp on reverse "REMITTED By THE UNION BANK OF SCOTLAND LIMITED ABERDEEN" (Douglas 11; Pick not listed), split and rejoined, otherwise good, sold with a letter by James Douglas conjecturing the note may be genuine Estimate £ 280-320
