Great Britain Postal History The following thirty-five lots comprise a recently discovered group of letters of complaint addressed to the Post Office. Unless otherwise specified they are the contents only 1836 (28 June) from Viscount Lake, at Chertsey, Lieutenant General to Sir Francis Freeling, London mail, concerning misdirected London Mail and referring to Lord Melbourne, the Prime Minister (when Penny Postage was brought forward, proposing the second reading of the Bill in the House of Lords), interesting contents including "I am sorry to be obliged to represent the conduct of the Post man at the West End of the town as many letters that have been redirected to me from Chertsey to 24 Cecil St. Strand, have been although the address was perfect, have been delivered at Crawley´s Hotel Albermarle St" and endorsed " I have seriously admonished the sorters" Estimate £ 200-250
