Victoria Travelling Post Offices The Northern Line Using Number 17 Undated 1/2d. yellow wrapper to Melbourne cancelled with a fine emergency use strike of the "up train/m.g Crown 17/victoria" intaglio mail bag seal handstamp, exceptionally rare, being the sole example of this handstamp recorded. Photo Estimate £ 200-250 Note: This route was opened as far as Shepparton on 13 January 1880; to Numurkah on 1 September 1881 and then to Cobram on 1 October 1888. There is no reference in the Victoria Post Office archives to "Crown Seals" having been made for any of the TPO vans in Victoria
