War Tax Stamps Fiji Issued Stamps 1d. carmine interpanneau strip of twelve with the overprinted misplaced one stamp to the left resulting in an overprint appearing in the left-hand margin and the stamp at right with variety overprint omitted, part to large part original gum; some creases and some perfs. split and reinforced in places, nevertheless a rare and spectacular variety. S.G. 139ab, £6,500+. Photo Estimate £ 1,800-2,000 Note; On one sheet of 120 the overprint was shifted to the left on the right-hand pane of sixty by exactly one stamp. This resulted in the final column of ten lacking the overprint. There is a complete row of ten from the top of the sheet) in the Royal Philatelic Collection, three other rows of ten (one from the foot of the sheet which was in the Peter Robertson collection) and four pairs in existence. Two further pairs were destroyed by fire
