x British Post Offices Abroad Crete Undated blue OHMS (deleted) envelope (226x124mm.) from Temenos to Major General Sir Herbert Chernside, the Occupation Governor, at Candia, bearing 1891 20pa. violet perforated "28" and tied by a good strike of the "Union Jack" handstamp in deep violet and showing "international occupation/governor/temenos" circular intaglio handstamp in the same ink at lower right corner, the envelope marked "This is the first stamp that has left Arkhares"; the adhesive crossed by filing crease, and the envelope with some faults in places, nevertheless a rare franking.
