x Victoria 1858 (8 Sept.) entire registered from Hepburn to Italy, variously rated and bearing 1854-57 Campbell and Fergusson 3d. bright blue horizontal strip of five, 1854 1/- blue vertical strip of five and 1858 imperf. Emblems 1d. pale emerald all cancelled with light and indistinct Barred Oval "25", showing "assicurata" h.s. on face and, on reverse, despatch, Melbourne, Alexandria (28.10), Malta (1.11), Turin-Genoa T.P.O. (12.11) and Verbano (13.11) d.s.; the adhesives lifted and hinged back in place with the 1d. and 3d. strip creased, nevertheless a very rare and attractive franking, the earlier of two examples of registered mail from Victoria to Italian States.
