St. Helena Queen Victoria Covers 1898 (6 May) 1d. carmine card to Germany, neatly cancelled with "W" over Crescent (Mabbett 06.14 and unlisted in Hibbert, Proud K81 and the sole date recorded by him) and with despatch c.d.s. at centre, Altona arrival c.d.s. (5.6) at left corner; the rarest of all the cork cancellations with only one other example, on a loose 2 1/2d. value, recorded. Photo Estimate £ 400-500
