1841-53 One Penny Red-Brown Imprimaturs Plate 85, AA-AB rejoined corner pair in deep to dark red-brown showing the plate number and margin inscription; both top margins trimmed a little, to different lengths. Distinct bluing of the paper giving a clear ivory head. Fresh and fine Estimate £ 1,800-2,200 Note that this is the first plate which shows the smaller format plate number engraved in the margin. 22 stamps were removed from the imprimatur sheet, AA-AL, FL, GG-GL, HK-HL and TL (Royal collection) provenance: AA; Leonard H.
