1840 One Penny Black Plate Ia Covers 1840 (8 May) cover front to Sleaford bearing FG with large to enormous (both sides) margins, cancelled by a central strike of dull red Maltese Cross, with "lincoln/my 8/1840" despatch c.d.s. alongside. Readdressed to "Piazza Coffee House, Covent Garden, London" with red Sleaford c.d.s. (10.5) in upper corner with manuscript "Redirected" below, marked "Prepaid" and with manuscript "1" in red ink, the Penny Black additionally crossed through; London tombstone arrival (14.5) also cancels the stamp.
