Great Britain 1840 Mulready One Penny Lettersheets A11, addressed to Morhampton (?) Surrey, centrally struck red Maltese Cross cancellation, on reverse 1840 (13 May) Bath double-ring d.s. and red datestamp (14.5); without contents but endorsed on the flap "This Penny Postage Cover is the first I have received. It was invented by some Lady about the Court and given to Mr. Mulready RA to reduce to the proper size....", a little soiled and refolded to display the message, fine and a fascinating survival of postal historical significance.
