Queen´s South Africa 1899-1902, one clasp, Defence of Ladysmith (162528 A-B: P. Moran, H.M.S. Powerful), impressed naming, contact marks, therefore nearly very fine Estimate £ 380-420 162528 Petty Officer Peter Moran, born County Mayo, Ireland, 1876; joined Royal Navy as Boy 2nd Class, 1894; served in H.M.S. Powerful, 8.6.1897-8.6.1900; transferred to H.M. Coastguard, 1903; and was ´Discharged Dead´ from service, when he died of Pneumonia, 2.6.1915; Moran was serving as a Leading Boatman at the time, operating out of H.M. Coastguard Station Tenby; he is buried in Fishguard Church Cemetery.
