Midd´x R.), good very fine (6) Estimate £ 250-300 G-11167 Corporal Alfred James Dore, born Haggerston, Middlesex; served with the 1st Battalion, Middlesex Regiment during the Great War; killed in action on the Western Front, 28.10.1916, during the Battalion´s attack and capture of the Rainy and Dewdrop Trenches, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France. G-7337 Private Alfred Dore, born Hackney, Middlesex; served with the 4th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment during the Great War; killed in action on the Western Front, 2.7.1916, during the Battalion´s attack at Fricourt, in which the Battalion suffered 540 casualties over three days, and is buried in Gordon Dump Cemetery, France.
