IN. Logansport. M.H. & J.E. Gridley. 10¢. (WVS-444-3). Black and white horse on hillside, center; arm and hammer in small oval, lower left. The horses are very reminiscent of Black & White Beauties´ by the ABN Co. However, in that particular vignette, the horses are reversed and lightining streaks across the sky. A lovely and charming scrip note for the equine enthusiast. Middleton, Strobridge. VF-EF. This was a watch making firm -- ´Watch Builders....Agents for the Genuine ´American Watch.´ / Work Done to Order´. This scrip was probably issued just prior to or during the Civil War.
