Punches barely affect signatures. IBN. VF+. Pratt and Whitney originally manufactured precision gears and machine parts, and grew to become a giant in the aviation field. By the 1930s they, along with Curtiss-Wright, had a virtual monopoly on the sale of aviation engines.
