Newfoundland 1857 Issue on thick, machine-made paper 1/- scarlet-vermilion with good to very large margins, unused with traces of original gum, lovely fresh colour; two horizontal creases, one (light) through the design, the other in top margin alongside sealed scissor-cut, the latter only marginally affecting the fine appearance of this exceptionally rare stamp.
