Naval General Service 1793-1840, three clasps, 4 Novr. 1805, Java, St. Sebastian (Henry Jeffery.), minor neat repair to left-hand side of clasp carriage, minor edge bruise, good very fine Estimate £ 4,000-4,500 Henry Jeffery served as Able Seaman in H.M.S. Revolutionnaire as part of Commodore Sir Richard Strachan´s squadron, when he captured four French ships of the line, off Ferrol on the north coast of Gallicia, Spain, 4.11.1805. Four Small Naval Gold Medals were awarded for this action; Jeffery served in the same rate in H.M.S. President during the assistance given by the Navy in the capture of the island of Java from July until the surrender, 18th September 1811; Jeffery served in the same rate and in the same ship, which assisted in the capture of St. Sebastian during which ship´s boats were employed in the inner blockade, 8.9.1813.
