Naval General Service 1793-1840, two clasps, 12 Octr. 1798, Egypt (Richd Bebbs.), minor edge bruise, very fine Estimate £ 4,000-4,500 Richard Bebbs served as Ordinary Seaman in H.M.S. Foudroyant during the capture of the French 74 gun ship-of-the-line, Hoche and three frigates by Commodore Sir John Borlase Warren´s squadron off the north-west coast of Ireland, 12.10.1798; Bebbs served as the same rating in the Foudroyant (flag ship of Vice-Admiral Lord George Keith) in co-operation with the Army off and on the coast of Egypt, 1801. Richard Bebbs born London; served with the Foudroyant soon after her completion in 1798, she was Nelson´s flag ship, on the Mediterranean station, 1799-1800.
