Naval General Service 1793-1840, one clasp, Camperdown (James Cuerdale.), very fine Estimate £ 2,400-2,800 James Cuerdale served as Landsman in H.M.S. Montagu for the defeat of the Dutch fleet by the British Naval squadrons under Admiral Duncan, including the capture of nine ships of the line and two frigates off the Dutch coast, 11.10.1797. Two Large Naval Gold Medals and fourteen Small Naval Gold Medals were awarded for Camperdown. Provenance: Baldwin 1930
