Warren - Fisher, £1, ND (1923), serial number A1/000001, brown, lilac and green, crowned vignette of George V at right, Saint George and the dragon at left, reverse brown, the Houses of Parliament at centre (T.31), apart from a very slight toning in margins, uncirculated and a lovely fresh and crisp example. This is the first note for issue, the date of issue being 26th February 1923. All number one notes are exceptionaly rare and desirable and rarely appear on the open market, important Estimate £ 8,000-12,000
