x New Republic 1886 (Nov.) envelope to Cape Town, bearing 1886 1d. on yellow paper without embossed Arms dated "30 aug 86" cancelled by circular "postkantoor/nieuwe republiek z.a./vryheid" in red (very unusual), in combination with Transvaal 1885 2d. (defective) cancelled by Utrecht c.d.s. and showing, on reverse, G.P.O. Transvaal (4.12) and arrival (13.12) datestamps. Rare and attractive. R.P.S.
