Grenada 1883 1d. orange with black manuscript "Postage" provisional overprint, cancelled by "C" c.d.s. of Sauteurs, good colour, centred to right, fine. R.P.S. Certificate (2010) states "genuine as far as one can tell of a manuscript marking". See S.G. footnote after S.G. 29. Cat. £10,000+ Estimate £ 2,500-3,000 Note: Dan Waker, in his exhaustive unpublished census of the manuscript provisional stamps, records only three used examples of the black overprint used at Sauteurs, one of which is in the Royal Collection. This is a new discovery.
