Antarctica 1914-17 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1914 (15 Apr.) typed letter, on printed Expedition headed paper, from Shackleton to F.E.C. Davies in Plymouth advising him "not to lose any job for the possibility of going on the Expedition, because this is a long drawn out set of negotiations" and signed "E H Shackleton". A fine letter written some five months prior to the expedition setting out Estimate £ 1,500-1,800 Note: This expedition, also known as the Endurance Expedition, was considered the last of the great Antarctic Expeditions, with the idea of crossing from sea to sea and noted by Shackleton to be the "one great main object of Antarctic journeyings"
