Great Britain 1892-1937 Royal Letters A collection of mail addressed to Lady Algernon Gordon-Lennox, wife of Col. the Hon. Lord Algernon Charles Gordon-Lennox, second son of the 6t. Duke of Richmond, comprising the following: Edward VII 1892 Portuguese telegraph form with message from Edward "Grateful for your sympathy in our overwhelming grief. A E", 1908 envelope (complete with letter) from London with Official Paid c.d.s. and Royal Cypher handstamp on face panel, and 1909 envelope and letter, written on Royal Yacht Victoria and Albert stationery, from Italy to Capri and showing fine red wax seal of the Royal Yacht on reverse Queen Alexandria 1902 envelope (with contents) from Cowes with Official Paid c.d.s. and 1911 envelope (with contents) from Sandringham with Official Paid c.d.s., both showing Royal Cypher handstamps, together with a further letter and a card George V undated envelope and letter written on Royal Yacht Osborne stationery and signed "George" Queen Mary 1933 envelope, complete with letter, express registered from Balmoral; 1936 envelope, with letter, from Windsor, 1936 (2) envelopes, both with contents, registered from Buckingham Palace to Italy, 1937 envelope, with letter, registered from Marlborough House with George VI Cypher, and a further letter without envelope, all signed "Mary R" Edward VIII 1936 (11 Feb.) telegram slip with message "Thank you for your letter and all you say which I much appreciate Edward R I" Princess Elizabeth 1937 (July) envelope, with letter, registered from Buckingham Palace and with George VI Cypher, the contents a thanks for a postcard and "We are looking forward very much to going to Scotland in nearly a week´s time. I hope you are well. Margaret and I send our love Elizabeth" Condition a little mixed in places though a fascinating archive of Royal letters together with a few other related items including 1932 letter from Cosmo Cantnor, Archbishop of Canterbury Also 1872-78 mourning envelopes (10, all with contents) from George Edmond Milnes Monckton-Arundell, son of 6th.
