Great Britain 1840 Mulready 1d. envelope, A156, to Ipswich, uncancelled and bearing unpaid manuscript "2", the reverse with a fine and clear strike of Charing Cross datestamp dated "5 MY/1840" struck in red; the flap has been neatly cut around red wax seal, some trivial soiling on reverse An outstanding pre-6th May envelope which has been correctly applied with the postage due marking.
