Cape of Good Hope 1844 (27 May) long entire letter to England, written by the daughter of Thomas Maclean (astronomer at the Cape Town University) with many interesting historical and social references to contemporary events and with a fine red seal, good oval Crowned "general post office cape of good hope" datestamp, rated 8d. in manuscript, red "ship letter", on reverse London arrival (6 July) in the same colour and Bedford arrival (7 July) on the front.
