Gibraltar 1886 (1 January) Overprinted on Stamps of Bermuda Issue, Covers The following section offers what is almost certainly the finest group of these first issue covers ever assembled in one collection. It features a number of remarkable frankings and rates, together with some most unusual destinations 1887 (20 Mar.) 2d. G size registered envelope to Germany, uprated with 1/2d. dull green pair, 1d. rose-red, 2d. purple-brown and 4d. orange-brown all neatly cancelled with Registered d.s. with a further strike at foot, the reverse with Algeciras (21.3), San Fernando (22.3), Madrid (23.3) and Detmold (26.3) d.s.; light fold through the 2d. value though a rare and most attractive four-colour franking.
