Great Britain Postal History 1647 (30 Oct.) entire letter from Robert Washington of Bank Hall, Chapel-en-le-Derbyshire to Lady Mary Moore in London, an amusing letter playfully chiding her for not having written and giving news of the Civil War and the Plague; a small portion of the letter sheet removed, otherwise fine. An extremely rare Civil War letter, referring to "some default in the postage", in a remarkably fine state of preservation from these turbulent times. Photo Estimate £ 600-700
