Kushan Empire, Magra (early 4th Century), AV Dinar, 7.89g, nimbate king, standing left, holding staff topped with loop, sacrificing over altar to left; ribboned trident above, dagger tucked in waistband, Brahmi legend Magra right, letter Ga under arm, Bactrian legend around, rev. Ardoksho seated facing, holding cornucopia right, tamgha in upper left field (cf. Göbl 578), letter "ma" double-struck, about uncirculated, scarce Estimate £ 600-700 The eight coins of Magra offered in this sale are believed to double the known issues of this elusive Kushan ruler. This particular coin is unusual in that it does not feature a chackra, which is normally a characteristic of Magra coins.
