Hong Kong Postal History Wreck Mail 1862 (30 Oct.) envelope (top flap missing) to Southampton showing a fair strike of the "hong kong/paid" and good strike of "london/paid" c.d.s. in red (1.1), good strike of boxed "Saved from the wreck of/the Colombo." handstamp in black, with "1/-" rate mark in red crayon, Hong Kong despatch c.d.s. in blue and part arrival d.s. in black. Light soiling as to be expected but in very fine condition for a cover which had been the sea for three months. A very desirable cover from the rare China mail bags which were picked up in Galle.
