Hong Kong King George VI 1941 Centenary, a set of six stamp-size composite essays produced by De la Rue, each featuring bats in the design which is similar to the issued stamps. Each design sunk mounted in special presentation folder; some tone spotting on the higher values, mostly confined to the margins. Rare and desirable. Photo Estimate HK$ 50,000-70,000 The tender for this issue was sent to Bradbury, Wilkinson (who printed this issue), De la Rue and Waterlow & Sons. The design bried must have been very detailed as there are only small differences in the three sets of designs, including the positioning of the King´s head and the scaling of the images. Each set of essays is thought to be unique. Note that the set produced by Waterlow & Sons was sold by us in May 1995
