Hong Kong 1880 Surcharges 10c. on 16c. yellow variety surcharge double, used with two part strikes of Shanghai "S1"; some faults including thin at foot and soiling. A collectable example of this rare Hong Kong variety. B.P.A. Certificate (2009). S.G. 26b, £75,000. Photo Estimate HK$ 120,000-150,000 Four examples of this error have now been recorded. Two are with the second surcharge well defined whilst on the other two it is a little fainter. This stamp forms a horizontal pair with the example sold by Christie´s in 1996, being from the same cover and showing the complete "S1" cancellation. In addition, this stamp joins the other fainter second surcharge stamp sold by Spink in 2005. These stamps will be from the right side of the pane and demonstrate that the second surcharge is slightly twisted and becomes progressively weaker towards the left of te pane
