In another busy week of stamp auctions, Spink is delighted to present the "Lionheart" Collection of Great Britain and British Empire Part II and the Robert Marion Collection of Mauritius Stamps and Postal History, which will go under the hammer this Thursday the 14th of November.

The morning will commence with the "Lionheart" Collection, a very nice single owner sale of 545 lots, which will include such gems as a 1913 Waterlow £1 green mint block of four (lot 3058), a Rhodesia  1910-13 £1 error of colour (lot 3441) and a Seychelles 1895 1c. imperforate colour trial (lot 3494). There will be strong sections of Great Britain, Bermuda, Cyprus, Rhodesia and Seychelles.

The Part I sale in April this year enjoyed great success, achieving £348,000 against a low estimate of £318,000, which was a very pleasing result. We eagerly await Part II and are hoping for an equally positive result.

Thursday will also feature the most comprehensive sale of Mauritius to come on the market in the last forty years. Covering early letters and handstamps through to stamps of the 1950s there is something for every keen Mauritius collector. The offering of the first Pence issues along with the Accountancy and "Too Pay" handstamps is the finest to appear on the open market.
