Southeast Asia cannon currency, caliber 16mm, approximately 25cm in length, 7.5cm in width, weighing 776g, barrel can be detached by unscrewing the trunnions, side panels of the flask trail decorated with foliage and numbered '2', cannon tube triangular panels with triangular motifs numbered '1', indicating they are a mismatched pair from a set of two. Sometimes referred to as miniature meriam kecil in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Malaya and Siam, small cannons were passed down in families as they were received as badges of honour, heirloom and dowry, but they were also a recognised form of currency which could be used in trade for rice, spices, tools, weapons and livestock etc. Much of them have been melted during WWII for other purposes, hence not many remain to this day. patches of green patina, otherwise well preserved
