1878 (21 July) stampless envelope from Mairie Port Louis to Pointe a Pitre with Official cachet, Guadeloupe/Port Louis datestamp, "T" in triangle marking and taxed by 1876-70 40c. black on white Postage Due, just touched at top and with scissors cut in the margin at right, tied by Guadeloupe/Pointe a Pitre dotted circle datestamp, another cachet and arrival datestamp on reverse; the envelope roughly opened and with part missing at left. An exceptional rarity. Robineau/Calves Certificate (2001) which mentions that the envelope is signed Gilbert with a note "La seule piece que je connaisse sur lettre"
