1898 (May) soldier's envelope (opened-out, minor creasing) to Scotland, marked "No stamps available at Ogbomoso W Africa", showing circular-framed "T", blue crayon "2/25" and London "d2½" tax handstamp, the reverse with Lagos (12.5), Liverpool Br. Packet (11.6) and Dufftown (13.6) datestamps. Believed to be the sole example of mail from this campaign. Photo
Note: On 10 March 1898, 10 Officers and 11 N.C.O.'s left Lagos for Ibadan. At Ibadan they took over Yoruba recruits who had been sent from the 1st. B. W.A.A.F. via Horin to Jebba, arriving there on 9 May
