(†) National Bank of Egypt, specimen proof 10 Pounds, 1946, Arabic serial number 187654, Arabic signature, purple and scarlet on multicoloured underprint, portrait of King Farouk at right, value in Arabic numerals in guilloches in three corners, reverse red on pale brown, orange and olive-green underprint, the ruins at Karnak, sphinx at left and right, one punch hole
(Pick and Hanafy unrecorded), glue traces, printed annotation "as submitted, March 18th 1952.' and ink annotation 'approved letter 26. 5. 52' both in top margin, signature and date both deleted in blue ink, pin hole, otherwise good extremely fine. Of the utmost rarity, probably unique, note prepared for issue but never released, as King Farouk overthrown in the revolution on 23 July 1952
