June 2003 Medal Newsletter

Medal Auctions at Spink
We are pleased to welcome a new member of the team, Andrew Hanham, who joins us from 1st June. Andrew is a specialist in British and European Orders. He and his expertise are a welcome addition to the Department. Arriving immediately after our very successful May sale, he will be thrown into the midst of the work in progress relating to our next auction on 5 November.

Last month we previwed more items from 'The Property of a Lady' which are to be sold in November. The disposal of this collection is being spread over several sales. Those of you who missed details of these items can link in to the May Medal Newsletter on this site.

Already we have two other small general collections for the November along with other interesting individual lots. There is still time enough to consign items for sale so please contact us if you would like to talk through having your property included.

Selling Medals at Spink
Although sale at auction of orders. medals and decorations is very successful, some clients still lean towards sale by private treaty. We at Spink are very interested in the straight purchase of both collections and individual items and will be pleased to discuss such arrangements.

Buying Medals on the Spink Website
During June there will be some unusual and interesting items going on the website, so it will be worth referring to the website sales list on a regular basis. Please note that items cannot be reserved, they will remain on the list available for purchase until a firm sale has been completed.
