The Samuel King Collection of Highly Important Gold Coins

Tim Hirsch, Chairman, Collectables: “This market goes from strength to strength with new private buyers continually emerging. The prices realised at Spink today once again reflect the strength of the current market. The highlight of the sale was the Queen Anne Five Guineas – in 1989 this coin fetched £39,000 at Spink. Sixteen years later the famous Vigo Five Guineas returned to the saleroom to sell for a staggering £149,500.”
