$5 CANADIAN NOTE SELLS FOR £13,900 AT SPINK IN LONDON

All of the notes sold and most achieved nearly twice their estimated value. The highlight of the collection was the Merchants Bank of Canada, $5, Montreal Note dated 1 November 1919 with a red serial number 000001. The note was purchased by an anonymous bidder for £13,900.
