The James Song FRPSL Large Gold Medal Collection of The Chin Hills District
After the Japanese occupied Rangoon in March 1942, an emergency mail service was organised by Major A.G. McCall, District Commissioner, Lushai Hills at Aijal.
The postal runners made an eight day journey from Haka, Tiddim and Fort White via Falam to Aijal in Assam and thence to India.
By July stamps overprinted "service"
had become exhausted and ordinary postage stamps overprinted "ohms" by typewriter were approved

1942 (8 Oct.) long brown OHMS envelope (415x150mm.; folded for display) to Fort White, bearing KGV 9p. deep green block of six (2x3) with type-written and handstamped "ohms" (the former Type 3a) with the latter in violet, 6p. bright blue marginal strip of four, 1a. purple-brown marginal pair and 1½a. turquoise-green top marginal strip of three, all with type-written "ohms" (Type 4) in dark (6p.) and light fonts, all tied by double-ring c.d.s. and showing arrival datestamp (10.10) on reverse.
