Seven entires bearing unplated 1d. blacks, all with four good to large margins, also Mulready envelope, each cancelled with varying shades of the red Maltese Cross, sent from Doncaster, Norwich, Stafford, Reading, Galashiels, Ruthin, Paisley and Largs; none recorded by Rockoff and Jackson though corresponding to recorded examples of the shade for these locations. Mixed condition though an interesting group.
